RIQAS Reports
RIQAS reports are presented in a user friendly, one page per parameter format. Within each report page, up to seven subreports are displayed, providing you with a variety of indications and comparisons to allow easy interpretation of your performance.
Also included is a quick reference Summary page showing an overview of your performance for each of your registered parameters.
New additions to the existing text section include:
Also included are the acceptable limits of performance for the parameter, where your % deviation can be compared to pre-set acceptable limits (e.g. government-based, CLIA, biological variation). Your % deviation for each parameter is compared to the mean for comparison and your acceptable limits of performance are then applied. The limits can be supplied in the form of a concentration, % deviation or number of standard deviations. Each limit will then be converted into a % deviation and compared to your % deviation for the parameter.
The acceptable limits of performance by default are set to “RIQAS”. Using the “RIQAS” default limits; each parameters acceptable % deviation is equal to the target deviation (TD) used within the Target Scoring (formerly known as the TCV%)
Performance goals based on Biological Variation are also stated within the text section for information purposes.
Sometimes known as percentage bias or percentage error, your % deviation is calculated using the following formula:
Similar to the Levey-Jennings and Target Scoring charts, the chart is shaded to indicate the limit of acceptable performance. A black dot within the white section of the chart will represent results with a % deviation within your acceptable limits of performance. Where a black dot within the dark shaded (red) section of the chart will represent results with a % deviation outside your acceptable limits of performance. If your performance for a parameter exhibits either a continued positive or negative bias, this will be evident by many of your dots set above or below the 0% deviation midline. % Deviations are not influenced by the performance of your peers, as seen with the standard deviation index (SDI) and therefore is a better indicator of individual performance.
Following on from the % deviation by sample chart, the % deviation by concentration chart enables easy detection of possible concentration related biases. Unlike the other charts provided on the report, the % deviation by concentration chart shows the concentration range of the previous 20 results along the bottom of the chart.
Using this scale along with the percentage deviation, you are provided with a rapid assessment of your percentage deviation in relation to the concentration of the:
This new chart provides an easy interpretation of potential positive or negative biases at high or low concentrations, or whether a particular sample is a random outlier.
Used in conjunction with the histogram, you can identify the position of your method’s distribution compared to the all method and instrument mean and identify any possible method bias.
The Multi Method Stat Section provides you with an easy way of assessing the performance of the other methods used to analyse the parameter. This is useful when your laboratory plans to change the analytical method used for the parameter.
New additions to the existing Summary Page include:
Within the Performance column, RIQAS now provides an effortless method of assessing the performance of each parameter within the sample distribution. When a red triangle appears next to the parameter, this indicates that all performance indicators (SDI, TS and %DEV) have exceeded your set limits.
The performance indicator limits for each parameter are exceeded when your result produces:
RIQASNet
RIQASNet is an internet-based data entry system allowing participants to return results and view reports online.
RIQASNet enables direct access for the submission of results and retrieval of RIQAS reports. Participants can submit current, corrected, late and future results, directly into RIQAS database eliminating need to fax or email EQA results. Reports are emailed directly to participants in pdf format when available. Reports can be e-mailed to up to three separate e-mail addresses, and it is possible to view, store or distribute reports according to participants' needs. Current and previous reports are also available to download directly from the internet. Confidentiality and security is maintained at all times.
PDF Reporting
RIQAS reports can now be presented in PDF (portable document format), offering easy review and storage of your laboratory’s EQA data. There are many advantages associated with PDF reporting, increasing the usability and efficiency of data analysis.
Multi-Instrument Reports
Laboratories can register up to five instruments at no extra cost. Individual reports for each instrument plus a unique multi-instrument report are provided. The multi-instrument report allows the comparative performance of each instrument.
